What happens when two soul-led creatives collide at the intersection of design, aesthetics, and energetic alignment?
Welcome to Form + Frequency — a new live YouTube show and podcast exploring the art and essence of aligned aesthetics. Hosted by Robyn James and Alexandra Lang, this series weaves together interiors, branding, beauty, personal style, and soul — all through the lens of proportion, harmony, and intuitive design.
In our prequel episode, we invite you behind the scenes into the origin story of this co-creation. Think of it as an energetic soft launch — unscripted, raw, and from the heart.
Here’s what you’ll experience:
1. Our Dynamic: We talk about how we met, how our friendship grew through working together, and why our differing (but complementary) energies make this show so rich. Alexandra brings her grounded Emotional Authority and home design expertise. Robyn brings her Mental Projector insight and decades in building soul-aligned brands and businesses. Together, it’s an unveiling of vision, embodiment, and aesthetic resonance.
2. What This Show Is — And Isn’t: We’re not coming in as “experts” with a rulebook on design. We’re sharing our real-time process of discovery — tuning into beauty as frequency, not just form. This is about experimentation, personal evolution, and trusting what feels resonant. It’s also a playground for our own obsessions: design, texture, contrast, energetics, storytelling, and of course... creative expression.
3. Why ‘Form + Frequency’ Matters: The name itself speaks to our approach. We believe beauty isn’t just seen — it’s felt. It lives in the spaces we create, the textures we choose, the stories we tell through style and environment. Every design decision holds a vibration. And when those choices are aligned? That’s when beauty becomes magnetic.
4. What to Expect from the Series: Each episode will explore one principle of beauty — like Proportion, Rhythm, Contrast, Whitespace — across multiple domains: interiors, branding, fashion, wellness, and beyond. We’ll share our take, show visual examples, reflect on what feels aligned vs performative, and invite you into the conversation.
5. A Shared Invitation: This is not about taste — it’s about truth. We’re less interested in trends, more fascinated by textures. Less how-to, more how-feels. This show is for anyone seeking to live, work, and express themselves in deeper alignment with their own aesthetic signature.

[00:00:00] Opening + Back Story
Robyn: “Okay. So, Form and Frequency. Yep. Here we go. Back story.”
Alexandra: “You start.”
Robyn: “Okay. Back story. Well, I think we should do the full story when we do the actual season premiere.”
Alexandra: “Yeah.”
Robyn: “Which is what today was supposed to be until I realized that you have to request YouTube Live access at least 24 hours before you want to go live. And I did not know this because I had not gone on YouTube Live before. So when I went to connect a new Streamyard account into YouTube and it prompted me to do that, I was very disappointed—but we trust the divine timing of things.”
Alexandra: “Exactly.”
Robyn: “So this was supposed to be Season 1, Episode 1 of our new show Form and Frequency, but it’s not. This is now the prequel.”
Alexandra: “Is that what you said?”
Robyn: “This is the prequel. I was going to say prelude, but this is like The Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings.”
Alexandra: “Yes. Exactly. Exactly. This is the origin story.”
Robyn: “Well, it’s funny because when I was first thinking about it, I actually did think of June. So maybe it was meant to be where this is more of that informal version.”
Alexandra: “I think so.”
Robyn: “Well, I think—okay, my biggest thing too is that we only started talking about this a couple weeks ago. We planned it really quickly. We spent last night getting all of the lights and figuring out configurations. Please excuse the lack of curtains behind us—that will be for the season premiere. Something to look forward to.
We got everything ready, but then that little snafu happened today. And I really think our show should be live consistently the whole way through. But I’m proud of us for committing so fast, setting it up so quickly, taking action—even though it didn’t work out the way we thought.”
Alexandra: “Yeah.”
Robyn: “But what I’m also grateful for—this is where my head was at when the YouTube didn’t show up. At some point we should introduce ourselves too. But we’ll do the full introduction in the first. You’ll get to know—”
Alexandra: “All of our fans and followers.”
Robyn: “All like ten of our fans and followers. You already know who we are. But I was thinking about how I wish we had more time so we could actually promote it and tell people about it. Like I did one thread post last night at 11 p.m. that you reposted this morning.”
Alexandra: “Yeah.”
Robyn: “We got one follower out of it—shout out to Sarah. Sarah, new YouTube subscriber.”
Alexandra: “Started from the bottom.”
Robyn: “Exactly. And—but I think what we’re bringing forward is important. We just have that aspect of imposter syndrome, the fear, the intimidation. We were talking about this yesterday about my husband—how oftentimes we self-sabotage. We have this great idea, we start moving toward it, it feels good, and then we get closer and suddenly it’s like, never mind. I’ll just delay. I’ll put it off.
So I’m proud of us for taking action, but I wish we had more time to talk about it and promote it—because this is going to be good, even if we feel nervous or think, ‘Who am I to take up space or to talk about these things?’ That’s where my head was at when I saw the little YouTube error. But yeah, I’m proud of us for taking action.”
[00:03:25] Commitment + Courage
Alexandra: “Okay. What are your thoughts?”
Robyn: “I think what it signals is like God asking you, ‘Are you really committed to this?’ Right? Because just before this, I had the narrative like, I’m tired, I have a headache, maybe I shouldn’t be in front of bright lights, maybe my brain’s not on, maybe I won’t say the right things. All those stories come up as you get closer to the mountain.
We’ve started scaling it but we’re not at the top. That point where you’re like, should we just turn around and go home because it’s getting dark—or do we keep climbing, trust that we’ll make it and enjoy the view at the top?”
Alexandra: “I love that.”
Robyn: “That’s one thing I admire about people I study—you don’t have to be the smartest person in the room, but you have to have the guts to show up in the room. What’s the quote—Theodore Roosevelt?—‘It’s not the critic who counts… it’s the man in the arena.’ That’s what this is.
And I think—okay, I’m going to judge myself regardless. Would I rather judge myself for not taking action, or judge myself for taking action that’s imperfect?
I’ve done the former for so long—planning, preparing, recalibrating. I’m not mad it took this long, but I’ve been talking about the same things for ten years. My message has evolved, but it’s been the same thread.
I saw my first website the other day—it literally says some of the same sentences as my current one. So sometimes I feel sadness—not regret exactly, but sadness—for the past versions of me who didn’t think she was ready to show up.
And now here I am realizing today—you have to request YouTube Live 24 hours in advance. I would have known this if I had taken action.”
[00:06:44] Introducing Ourselves
Robyn: “Okay—should we talk about our names and who we are? Maybe we’ll do the full lovely introduction on Episode 1. But as our prequel—The Hobbit—should I go?”
Alexandra: “Yeah.”
Robyn: “Okay.”
[00:07:09] Alexandra’s Origin
Alexandra: “It’s funny because this is like another thing when we’re talking about form and frequency. I love the name I have—Alexa—but one thing I’m encouraging myself to step into is Alexandra, which is my origin name. That frequency feels more true to who I am. Alexa’s slipping. So this gave me a feeling—maybe I should introduce myself as Alexandra.”
Robyn: “You heard it here first. Eleven subscribers.”
Alexandra: “No crazy name change, just adding a few letters I was born with. My name means protector of mankind, which fits. Maybe not literally, but in how I always want to protect what’s good.
That’s why when I met you, it was so important that I protect you—build a cocoon around you. I saw your light and wanted to make sure no one took that away or made you feel less than.
And that ties to what we were saying—you’ve been talking about this YouTube channel since we met, and it was like, ‘This is the time.’ You invited me to be part of this, and I want to hold both of us accountable to the message.
Everyone deserves a stage. You just have to be courageous enough to walk it.”
[00:09:01] Soulbrand Media + The New Era
Robyn: “I love that—and that’s what I’ve been wanting to build this whole time. When I felt God instruct me to start a media company, I had no idea what that meant. The only thing I did know was that I wanted to build a stage—not just for my voice, but for others who deserve to be heard.
We’re done with the influencer era as it’s been. There’s fatigue around experts and gurus. Hollywood’s crumbling. Illusions are clearing. I’ve seen behind the scenes of that world, and I think now is the time for those who lead with integrity, heart, and soul.
Even if we don’t have curtains behind us or YouTube access yet, our hearts are in the right place. And I’m realizing—not everyone can say that.”
[00:12:03] Perfectionism vs Excellence
Robyn: “I can be so strategic, so in my head—planning, perfecting mentally—but when you take action, it’s never going to match your vision at first. For Virgo placements like us—Virgo Rising, Virgo Mercury—it’s hard to find the line between perfectionism and excellence.
Right now, we’re showing up with what we have, and that’s a good place to start. Perfectionism is an illusion.”
Alexandra: “It’s the killer of dreams. Perfectionism is the killer of dreams. I can say that because my offers haven’t been perfect, my business hasn’t been perfect—but all those years I hid on and off. And now—no more.”
[00:13:07] Robyn’s Name + Purpose
Alexandra: “So who is Robyn?”
Robyn: “I’ve never loved my name, but I love what it means. It comes from Roberta or Robert—it means fame, bright, shining.
Years ago, my mom gave me a book called Your One Word, about finding your guiding mantra. After 250 pages, my word was shine.
Maybe I was subconsciously biased because I knew that’s what my name meant, but I think it’s deeper. My work here is to give myself permission to shine—so that others can too.
That’s been the hardest journey—to embody that, to feel worthy of the microphone. To not fear being too much.
I think we all fear our own power. We get close to the flame, then pull back. But what would happen if we just went into the flame?
If we allowed ourselves to burn and be reborn—like a phoenix rising? That’s what’s present for me today.
Because there are parts of me I haven’t fully brought to the table. And that’s why I wanted to do this—sitting with you on this couch. You get the real me here. My husband gets the real me. My family gets the real me.
But when I show up online, I think, ‘My clients are watching, I need to look strategic.’ I perform a version of myself. But that’s not the full self.”
[00:18:24] Authentic Expression + Legacy
Robyn: “I came from a professional world—top business school, corporate clients—and I learned how to hold my own. I’m grateful for that. But it also built an armor of professionalism that sometimes hides my realness.
So claiming my name—Robyn, meaning bright, shining—is me reclaiming authenticity.
To be my full self no matter what room I’m in. To lead with that light, not dim it.”
[00:19:59] Media Vision
Robyn: “My company name is Soulbrand Media. When that dropped in—March 2023—I paced my living room saying, ‘What just landed?’
But over time, I realized I want to produce meaningful stories, educational, inspirational content that helps people remember who they are, shine brighter, reclaim truth, and live their soul’s purpose.
This show is one expression of that. One of many I hope to create—each blending soul, strategy, and style in different ways.”
[00:24:31] Alexandra’s Calling: Aurum Interiors
Alexandra: “As you talk about Soulbrand Media, I guess it’s fitting that I talk about Aurum Interiors.
This seed was planted long ago—I’ve been moving furniture since I could walk. Interiors were my first creative outlet and form of regulation. It helped me find peace.
I almost went to school for interior design, even landscape architecture, but fear crept in. I backed out.
Years later, angels came into my life—including you—and reminded me what I came here to do. I have impostor syndrome, sure, but there’s no plan B.
Spaces shape energy. They influence how we feel and who we remember ourselves to be. I want to create homes that reflect that frequency.”
[00:28:01] Beauty as a Spiritual Practice
Robyn: “Everything around us has the power to dilute our frequency. The world is designed against our essence in some ways. So we have to reclaim it.
Even if all you have is one corner of a bedroom, that’s your space—you can make it yours. That’s where safety starts.
And what you’re doing is so powerful—making beauty a form of nervous system regulation, of devotion.”
Alexandra: “Exactly. And it’s funny because for years I thought design was in vain—frivolous. But it’s the opposite. It’s soul work manifested in 3D. It’s sacred.”
[00:31:17] The Form + Frequency Blueprint
Robyn: “Okay, I have to share this—when we did our Soul Blueprint together.
I made a GPT called the Soul Blueprint Analyst, trained on astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys—all of it. I ran our charts through it and it said:
‘Robyn is the intuitive strategist. Alexandra is the energetic activator. Robyn brings clarity to what’s essential; Alexandra brings freedom to move it. Robyn’s visions mean something because Alexandra makes them move. Together, your dharma is to illuminate the beauty of alignment. This isn’t just a show—it’s a soul transmission. You each carry one half of the signal.’
It even said, ‘You complete a circuit.’”
Alexandra: “That’s wild. And true.”
[00:34:01] Soul Work, Abundance + Alignment
Robyn: “That’s why we connect—yin and yang. We bring each other’s soul work to life.
And hopefully, that gives others a permission slip to do the same.
We just want good people to have their voices amplified—to share their gifts and receive abundance doing it.”
Alexandra: “Exactly. Because when form and frequency align—masculine and feminine, soul and strategy, river and riverbanks—that’s when life flows.
When you’re self-expressed, that’s when the good things magnetize to you. But it’s hardest to do that when you’re in the dark night of the soul.”
[00:39:02] Desire + Devotion
Robyn: “Yes. And I think what this show is really about is defining what a rich, beautiful, fulfilling life looks like—for each of us.
Everyone’s version of luxury and success is different. For some, it’s a cabin in the woods. For others, a pied-à-terre in Paris.
The word ‘desire’—de sire—means ‘of the father.’ What if our desires are holy breadcrumbs leading us where we’re meant to go?
Not ego desires—but the deep ones that pull you toward your purpose. Following those is devotion.”
[00:43:24] Embodied Spirituality
Alexandra: “Yes. That reminds me of Zach Bush—he says spirituality isn’t in the medicine or meditation. It’s in us.
It’s not about bypassing—it’s about showing up, in the body, in the mission, in the moment.
Every soul came here to serve humanity, to leave this world better than we found it. But that doesn’t happen by playing safe.
Spirituality lives in the spiral—the hardships, the joys, the thresholds we cross.”
Robyn: “I love that. Because living your life fully—loving deeply, saying yes to your calling, being present—that’s spirituality.
Beauty is devotion. Truth is beauty. It’s about living in alignment with what’s in front of you, even imperfectly.”
[00:47:44] Wabi-Sabi + The Cracks of Light
Alexandra: “To love everything—even the imperfect—is the most spiritual act.
There’s a Japanese philosophy, wabi-sabi—embracing imperfection. Harmony isn’t having it all perfect; it’s dancing with what is.”
Robyn: “Yes. The cracks are where the light gets in.
We don’t have the curtains yet, or the full studio, but that’s okay. The imperfection is part of the story.
The cracks are where the light gets in—and the hard moments are where the beauty enters.”
[00:51:04] The Threshold + The Beginning
Alexandra: “It’s like working out—at first it hurts, but you cross that threshold again and again. That’s spirituality.
That’s what this show is—form and frequency—remembering who you are and crossing the threshold every time it’s scary.”
Robyn: “Exactly. To commit to what you came here to do, you have to keep saying yes, even when it’s uncomfortable.”
Alexandra: “You couldn’t have said that better. Let’s go.”
Robyn: “Let’s go.”
Alexandra: “I think that’s the perfect place to close.”
Robyn: “We just landed at the beginning.”
Alexandra: “The beginning of the next episode—the official season premiere. Live. Because we’ll have access.”
Robyn: “We’ll figure it out. That’s the purpose. That’s the foundation we laid.”
Alexandra: “Thank you.”
Robyn: “Thank you. I love you.”
Alexandra: “Let’s launch this rocket.”
